God of Shadows, is another of my Collects in the Time of Virus. It reflects sorrow heard through news on the radio.
Thanks again to Ian Ferguson for his photographs taken in East Gippsland last month and used with permission.

God of Shadows,
give shelter to hollow, shaken humans
bewildered by sudden closure.
Sturdy structures shattered, hopeful trade ended,
meaningful work gone.
In the shocking silence where nothing can be said,
let birdsong be heard.

  1. Beautiful…thank you for both the simplicity and depths ( honesty, invitation, insight, grace, hope, compassion) that your words offer. Love the photographs too!

    1. Thanks Kim, I appreciate your response. And if I have read your address correctly, from a neighbour country of great beauty.
