It has been good to hear from people in far places including NYC, who are accessing the Collects in the Time of Virus. Thanks again to Ian Ferguson for the image here. These prayers and photos can be freely shared with acknowledgement.
Jesus of the sorrows who knows the solitary space of loss, be our companion as we bear witness to the heartbreak of our neighbours. Breathe gentle presence into our smallest actions lest we disturb their grief with heavy-handed hope. And when we fear for folk deep in the abyss, give a low hum to our songs that vibrates through earth and rock. May the tremors that catch our breath remind our burdened friends that their pain is known, even in the terrible aloneness of death.
